Platform and Network Implementation Manager
Comp: Up to 275k

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a regional team implementing client-, venue-, and -driven infrastructure changes utilizing ITIL-based best practices, policies, and procedures. You will be successful by attaining a high level of zero-defect infrastructure changes within ever-reducing timelines and by increasing the overall amount of automation in the change processes and procedures.  You will need to leverage your effective management, excellent communication, and consistent change management approach in order to excel in this role.

The ideal candidate has strong implementation, build, deployment management experience, a natural talent for getting the best out of teams, and a sound understanding of the technologies we support:  Telecommunications, Information Security, Co-location & Cloud hosting, Hardware and Software Systems, and Financial Market Connectivity.  The ideal candidate will have some experience in Design Engineering as well as some Operations experience in order to better understand the deployment requirements coming from the Design phase and the operational constraints associated with implementing changes in Production environments.

Responsibilities and duties (include but not limited to)

  • Partner with your regional counterpart(s) to develop and provide the strategic direction of the Implementation Engineering component of the Client Service Delivery organization as it relates to build out and team expansion
  • Ensure change management procedures and practices are well defined, documented, and consistently applied
  • Design and deliver implementation solutions for IaaS customers consistent with  and Industry best practices
  • Create and monitor the effectiveness of the team against KPI’s, driving change as needed to deliver continual improvement
  • Foster a culture of excellence in the team with a focus on collaboration, ownership, and communication for resolving and preventing customer issues
  • Identify and implement change as needed within the team to ensure it can take on new design patterns and absorb or deflect future operational restrictions
  • Work closely with the Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, and Platform Engineering team members and managers to ensure new customers are on-boarded with seamless handover / transition into Production services
  • Foster open communication between teams as well as managers to bring forward ideas on how they can collectively deliver a more effective service
  • Ensure the implementation engineering team is skilled, trained, and developed to enable them to deliver high quality service and support
  • Manage and develop strategic partnerships with third party suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ensure quality, up-to-date documentation exists for all service agreements and service procedures/runbooks
  • Achieve consistent customer satisfaction ratings and respond appropriately to customer feedback on areas for improvement
  • Take responsibility for customer escalations, and ensure that company leadership is well informed
  • Drive a continual service improvement program based on a desire to become a world class IT Services Organization

Education, Skills and background (incl. Education and Experience Requirements)

  • Have 15+ years of experience in a Technical organization, with:
    • At least 10 years of change implementation experience
    • At least 2 years of ITIL (or similar) change procedure engagement
    • At least 2 years of Design Engineering experience and familiarity with ingesting client requirements
    • At least 2 years of Operations experience and familiarity with the impact of both successful and failed changes in Production environment
  • Have 3+ years of management experience
  • Possess excellent knowledge of IT systems and tools
  • Exhibit solid project management and information acquisition skills

Working Arrangements
This is an office based position.  Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions / geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).
