Responsibilities:

⮚ Manage worldwide datacenter and office technical room environment:
o NY/NJ datacenter and branch offices physical work installation (mostly Saturdays or early
evenings)
o EMEA and APAC through smart hands
o Access management
o Inventory & asset management including shipping and order tracking
o Space and power monitoring and capacity planning
o Maintaining cages, cabinets, technical rooms while keep them clean and organized
⮚ Entry level network and system troubleshooting and operational support
⮚ Hardware and software installation and configuration of servers, storage and
network appliances
⮚ Participate in telecom and cross-connect inventory management and deployment
⮚ Potential off hours emergency calls (i.e., production outages)
⮚ Light administrative work (i.e., organization, documentation, inventory and
monitoring)
⮚ Telecom and datacenter (power) maintenance management and communication

Qualifications:

⮚ ~ 2+ years or more of experience in similar role
⮚ Flexible work hours to accommodate business needs (i.e., Saturdays should be
considered a workday)
⮚ Ability to travel by car within NY and NJ (Secaucus and Piscataway), potentially
international travel as well
⮚ Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 50lbs while working in cramped spaces or
in elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
⮚ Ability to rack and organize IT equipment with proper dressing of power cords and
cables
⮚ Comfortable using hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, etc.)
⮚ Comfortable with physical work, including at heights and from ladders
⮚ Familiar with CPU, memory and disk standards
⮚ Familiar with fiber, copper, connectors and power standards
⮚ Interested in taking computers apart and putting them back together
⮚ Understanding basic electricity, temperature and security standards with associated
monitoring
⮚ Ability to work autonomously on each aspect of a project from design,
implementation and support, including management reporting, monitoring and documentation
⮚ Motivated to grow in the role and take on additional responsibilities
⮚ Sense of ownership and pride in a job well done
⮚ Strong organizational and communication skills⮚ Team player with a “can do” personality
⮚ Preferred basic knowledge or previous experience in the following:
o Datacenter and inventory management system (Netbox, Snipe IT and Equinix portal)
o Core network L1/L2/L3 and security technologies (Arista, Cisco, Metamako, Palo Alto/Fortinet and
Zscaler)
o Linux command line and administration (Red Hat and iLO interface)
o Storage technologies and appliances (NetApp, Pure, Rubrik, iSCSI and NFS)
o Automation and DevOps process for infrastructure management (Ansible, Python, Git and Docker)
o Telecom space and technologies (Point to point wavelength, E-Line, MPLS, VPLS, x-connect,
brokers, etc.)
o DNS/DHCP (Infoblox)
o SNMP and Syslog (Solarwinds, Grafana, ELK and SPLUNK)
o Terminal server (OpenGear)
o Project management and documentation (JIRA and Confluence)
