What You’ll Be Doing:
Design & Build: Architect, document, and continuously enhance the services that drive our HPC platform — from storage to servers to cloud infrastructure.
Optimization: Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to eliminate them, boosting performance and reducing costs.
Performance Mastery: Measure, monitor, and optimize HPC system performance. Use data to drive improvements over time.
L3 Support: Tackle complex issues at the highest level, keeping systems running smoothly with no downtime.
Future-Proofing: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying areas of improvement before they become problems.
The Skills You Need:
10+ Years in HPC: Extensive experience with Linux (RHEL, CentOS, OEL) in enterprise environments, focusing on operations, systems engineering, and performance tuning.
Deep Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of system tuning for high-bandwidth infrastructures and the ability to identify bottlenecks across OS, storage, and network layers.
Network Savvy: Mastery of network protocols (TCP, UDP, RDMA) with the ability to optimize servers and network configurations.
Server Architecture: In-depth understanding of CPU chipsets (Intel, AMD, ARM) and when to leverage each for peak performance.
HPC Job Scheduling: Experience with Slurm, RunAI, or Bright Cluster Manager.
Programming: Experience with Python and/or C++ to get under the hood and make real impact.
Critical Thinker: You’re the go-to problem solver, whether it’s troubleshooting obscure issues or optimizing systems for peak performance.
Excellent Communicator: Clear, concise, and confident in both verbal and written communication.
Nice-to-Haves:
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.
Experience with KDB (Q) or frameworks like XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and integrating HPC workflows.
