Summary
Global infrastructure team is looking for a leader in infrastructure engineering who is excited about building a best-in-class Linux and storage environments for trading and financial research. This person will be responsible for many critical aspects of infrastructure at a well-respected hedge fund. This person will be responsible for design, implementation, engineering, and administration of highly reliable infrastructure that is used for low-latency trading and quantitative research, as well as back- and middle-office applications. We operate a 24×7 mission-critical environment which features virtualization, containerization, exchange co-location, and enterprise storage. The ideal candidate for this role will arrive with extensive knowledge around many of these technologies and have the aptitude to quickly learn about the rest.
Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for a growing public cloud environment; this includes architecting changes to the environment as well as regular updates and maintenance of the environment. (We look to automate maintenance wherever possible.)
- Work closely with teams across the technology department providing ongoing improvements and support for software releases.
- Working with senior stakeholders to determine how our software release process, containerization strategy, and public cloud should evolve over time. Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with all stakeholders is a must.
Job Qualifications
- Strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience architecting solutions leveraging AWS at a top tier financial or technical firm.
- Strong knowledge of the core AWS services for servers, containers, and networking. Professional level certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Cloud DevOps Engineer are preferred.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to participate as a strong contributor and communicator on complex engineering projects. Understanding of the Release and Deployment Management processes, preferably using Team City or GitHub Actions.
- Ansible, Terraform, and Python scripting proficiency is required.
- Working knowledge of the following technologies related technologies:
- Enterprise containerization and Kubernetes
- Atlassian software to include Confluence and JIRA
- GitHub Enterprise with integration into the CI/CD pipelines.
- JFrog Artifactory
- Understanding of DevOps principles to serve as a bridge between Infrastructure and Software Development teams.
