DevOps Team Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and technical Team Lead to lead two complimentary DevOps functions.

The first is our CT Cloud DevOps team which is responsible for working with our application teams within Corporate Technology to migrate or build new workloads on the cloud (AWS specifically).

The second is our Core DevOps team which is responsible for various SDLC and developer tools used across the firm (including our PM/trading teams).

Reporting into the Head of Corporate Technology Support, DevOps & QA, you will be leading a team of talented DevOps engineers across the globe and interfacing with stakeholders within all areas of the Firm.

This is a highly visible and impactful role. In addition to being a hands-on and technical engineer, you are expected to be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and provide white-glove service.

Principal Responsibilities

Team/Cultural Leadership
o Attract and retain top DevOps talent across both functions

o Act as a mentor for your team and help them develop their careers

o Build upon the strong teamwork and service oriented culture that already exists

o Build strong relationships with all stakeholders across the firm and act as the face of the team

o Ensure consistency across functions and regions

o Define the team’s short and long term roadmaps with an emphasis on delivery – must have a sense of what is practical vs. theoretical

o Manage vendor relationships and ensure our best interests are always represented

Technical Leadership
o Help the team design efficient and supportable solutions

o Drive self-service and automation

o Stay abreast of new technologies and services across the industry and introduce them to the team as it makes sense

o Be able to guide your team as well as stakeholders to solve all technical challenges

o Must be able to contribute technically by being hands-on in addition to generating ideas

Qualifications/Skills Required

Minimum 10+ years’ experience in an engineering role. Preferably at least 5 of those years in a leadership role
Background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Technical Skills
o Must be strong in Python (OOP in Python)

o Must have prior experience building, running or supporting workloads in AWS

§ Have expertise in various AWS services and be able to help decide what services are appropriate to use and when

§ Have experience managing AWS costs

§ Have prior experience migrating workloads from an on-premise solution to hybrid of full cloud solution

o Ability to support both Windows and Unix/Linux environments

o Extensive understanding of enterprise monitoring solutions

o Must have experience with various continuous integration, development and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Artifactory, TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus, etc.)

§ Must have experience with how these tools work with each other and not in isolation

o Experience working in complex enterprise infrastructure environments with ability to understand and interface with our Infrastructure partners

Soft Skills
o Strong verbal and written communication skills

o Highly analytical with excellent problem solving ability

o Self-starter with ability to quickly pick up new concepts and technologies
