We’re scaling a cloud-native financial infrastructure platform powering the next era of digital markets — and we need a Director of Platform Security who can blend hands-on engineering depth with executive-level leadership.

This is not a paper-pushing role.
You’ll lead from the trenches — defining the strategy, mentoring world-class engineers, and writing real code when it counts. Your mission: make security the default language across every system, service, and deployment that drives our global footprint.

You’ll shape how this firm designs, builds, and scales securely — turning complex technology into a frictionless, secure engine for growth.

What You’ll Do

• Own and evolve the Platform Security vision — from strategy to execution — aligning it tightly with business outcomes.
• Build and scale a high-impact security engineering team focused on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), IAM, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Architect and drive initiatives that embed zero-trust, automation, and security-by-design into every platform layer.
• Define and deliver a long-term roadmap that raises security maturity while reducing operational friction.
• Partner with Infrastructure, AppSec, GRC, and Product leaders to ensure security accelerates—not blocks—innovation.
• Lead key programs: entitlement governance, cloud posture management, secrets lifecycle automation, policy-as-code.
• Develop pragmatic security policies and frameworks that meet regulatory expectations without slowing velocity.
• Mentor senior engineers and managers — shaping the next generation of technical security leaders.
• Manage vendor ecosystems and evaluate build vs. buy for emerging technologies.
• Establish KPIs that measure risk reduction, resilience, and engineering enablement.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of deep technical experience across Platform, Cloud, or Security Engineering.
• 5+ years leading cloud-native security teams (AWS preferred).
• Proven experience in AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, and automation-first security.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, SOC2, ISO 27001) and how to operationalize them at scale.
• Ability to communicate with both technical engineers and business executives — translating complexity into clarity.
• Startup agility + enterprise rigor — able to navigate scale, change, and hypergrowth environments.
• Pragmatic mindset: you know when “best practices” get in the way of business velocity, and how to engineer better ones.
