Enterprise Platform Engineer – Unix/Storage/Cloud
Main Duties & Responsibilities
§ Deliver systems and storage solutions based on Linux driven by requirements and develop standards to ensure consistency across all environments.
§ Proof of concept and new technology evaluation.
§ Benchmarking and performance analysis of existing and new technologies.
§ Manage and maintain a multi-cloud environment and evaluate new cloud services as they become available.
§ Promotion of DevOps best practices (CICD, automated testing, branching strategy, and environment decoupling.)
§ Proactively automate common tasks and functions to improve efficiency and support Infrastructure as a Service.
§ Manage BAU requests/services/processes as a member of a global team to provide a highly available environment employing automation, optimization and continual service improvement practices were possible to achieve outstanding service delivery.
§ Produce well-structured and comprehensive technical documentation for support teams.
§ Help cultivate the highest standards in systems engineering, automation, and development
Must have Qualifications:
§ Minimum of 7 years working with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/OEL preferred) in a large, complex or niche environment with the following
areas of focus: systems engineering & performance, configuration management, day to day operations
§ Experience working with various cloud providers (AWS and GCP)
§ Server Management and Support: HP, SuperMicro, Cisco UCS
§ Storage Management and Support: NetApp, DDN, EMC, and Vast
§ Filesystem Management and Support: LVM, EXT4, XFS, GPFS, NFS
§ Strong working knowledge of configuration management tools such as Chef, Terraform, or Puppet
§ Strong understanding of source control concepts, best practices and the software development lifecycle.
§ Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and containers (standalone and Kubernetes)
§ Experience with a distributed job scheduler such as Slurm or HTCondor
§ Working knowledge of TCP, UDP, NTP, PTP
§ Naturally collaborative, inclusive, and team oriented.

§ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
§ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
§ Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related experience.
