Linux Systems Engineer Lead/Manager

Overview of Role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to help build a strong engineering team responsible for design, development, support our client electronic broking division, and low latency trading applications. The servers run on Redhat Linux with a large-scale global deployment. The successful candidate must be able to work independently while actively managing a dynamic, global team. This position is well suited for a person who wishes to be involved with many different aspects of platform engineering, which includes Red Hat Linux, storage, and advanced scripting for all of the above. The candidate must have an eagerness and ability to learn new skills and work within a team.

Professional / Technical Skills
Leading a team with mixed skill
Strong scripting & Automation (Ansible, Python, PERL, BASH)
Strong understanding of PTP, NTP, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, and DNS (BIND, Infoblox)
Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Solaris Zones, Vagrant)
Container Experience (Kubernetes, Docker, CoreOS, Mesos)
Hand’s on experience with Solarflare, Mellanox, Corvil, kernel bypass
Hand’s on experience with Bios tuning and kernel optimization for low latency platforms
Strong understanding of hardware architecture and network protocols
Experience with SSO & Directory Services (Okta, Active Directory, OpenLDAP)
Experience with Storage & Middleware technologies (Solace, TIBCO, Ceph, Gluster,)

Principal Responsibilities
Promotion and evangelization of DevOps best practices (CI, CD, automated testing, branching strategy, decoupling, etc.)
Ability to document process, requirements, and create test plans
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Identify issues and present solutions to improve site reliability
Implement logging / monitoring solutions for both local, cloud based, and remote systems installations and environments.
Benchmarking of new hardware for R&D
A desire to learn new skills, excellent communication skills with ability to work with all levels of staff, Front Office, Developers and Senior Executives

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of eight years Linux administration experience, Redhat Linux preferred
Systems engineering, integration and automation of mission critical platforms
Experience managing high frequency, low latency trading systems
Experience with large scale datacenter deployments
RHCSA and/or RHCE preferred
Financial services experience a plus
In-depth knowledge in Linux OS
Design and implement disaster recovery procedures
Deliver solutions with a sense of urgency
