Firm is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund. Firm focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Head of Platform Services to lead our Windows, Linux, Storage, Backup Engineering, and Infrastructure Operations, including oversight of Systems Operations and the Network Operations Center (NOC). This senior leadership role is ideal for an individual with extensive experience within hedge fund or high-performance financial environments, combining deep platform engineering knowledge with a proven track record of managing large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will drive architectural excellence, operational stability, and scalability across our hybrid infrastructure while building and leading world-class engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities:

· Define and execute a comprehensive infrastructure strategy for platform services, encompassing Windows, Linux, storage, backup, and monitoring operations.

· Lead and mentor diverse teams of engineers, system administrators, and NOC analysts across platform engineering and infrastructure operations.

· Champion a culture of operational excellence, proactive monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement.

· Collaborate with executive stakeholders across Technology, Trading, Risk, and Compliance to ensure infrastructure capabilities align with business priorities.

· Oversee architecture, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-class Windows and Linux environments, with a focus on high availability, scalability, and security.

· Manage storage infrastructure including SAN, NAS, cloud storage, and enterprise backup platforms. Ensure robust data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

· Promote the adoption of infrastructure-as-code, automation frameworks, and configuration management tools to streamline deployments and reduce operational risk.

· Direct the day-to-day operations of systems infrastructure and the 24/7 NOC, ensuring rapid incident response, root cause analysis, and service restoration.

· Implement and continuously improve system observability, monitoring, and alerting platforms.

· Establish and enforce escalation procedures, service level agreements (SLAs), and reporting standards.

· Ensure all systems adhere to internal security policies, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SEC, GDPR, SOX).

· Partner with Information Security teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.

· Maintain thorough documentation, audit readiness, and alignment with ITIL or other service frameworks.

· Manage relationships with infrastructure and platform service vendors; review SLAs, and ensure value delivery.

· Develop and manage budgets for platform services, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation without compromising service quality.

Qualifications:

· 10+ years in IT infrastructure leadership roles with deep hands-on and strategic experience in Windows, Linux, storage, and infrastructure operations.

· 5+ years in a management position, with proven success leading cross-functional infrastructure teams.

· Prior experience in hedge funds, asset management, or other latency-sensitive financial environments is strongly preferred.

· Expertise in:

o Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) environments

o Storage Solutions (NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure, etc.), backup platforms (Commvault, Veeam, Rubrik)

o Monitoring Tools (Datadog, Zabbix, Kentik, Etc.)

o Virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure)

o Infrastructure automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform)

o Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus

· Strong knowledge of disaster recovery planning, security best practices, and IT compliance frameworks.

· Outstanding communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.

· Strong project management and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

· Industry certifications are a plus (e.g., Microsoft Certified, RHCE, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, CISSP, ITIL)
