Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a strong background in network infrastructure and security. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in Fintech or Property Tech industries and a preference for working in customer-facing environments.

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing our current network architecture and diagrams, conducting threat modeling, and implementing infrastructure changes using Terraform. This is a part-time role with flexible hours, suited for a contractor based in or willing to commute to New York City.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and Analyze Current Network Architecture
  • Conduct a thorough review of the existing network architecture and diagrams.
  • Identify areas of improvement and optimization within the network infrastructure.
• Threat Modeling
  • Develop and implement threat models to identify potential security risks.
  • Recommend and execute measures to mitigate identified threats and vulnerabilities.
• Infrastructure Management
  • Utilize Terraform to manage and provision network infrastructure.
  • Ensure network scalability, reliability, and security in a GCP environment.
• Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configurations, and changes.
  • Provide regular reports on network performance, security status, and compliance.
• Collaboration and Support
  • Work closely with the IT and security teams to align network architecture with organizational goals.
  • Support customer-facing environments by ensuring network reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, diagrams, and best practices.
• Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Experience in threat modeling and implementing security measures.
• Background in Fintech or Property Tech industries preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be based in or able to commute to New York City.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with customer-facing environments.
• Relevant certifications in networking or cloud computing (e.g., GCP Professional Cloud Network Engineer).
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms and multi-cloud environments.
