Primary functions & responsibilities

Set and implement the strategic direction for a future-state Enterprise Data Platform, supporting our business and technology objectives.
Lead global team of data architects and data engineers to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill the Business information needs.
Work cross-functionally across our firm to establish and implement the vision for managing and using data as a business asset. Develop methods to ensure consistent application and use of analytics. Establish the governance of data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications and automated decision making.
Design how analytics data, its metadata, lineage, and orchestration of its processes can be identified in cloud-enabled data platforms
Establish framework and guidelines to capture data definitions, metadata, and taxonomy; Ensure analytics are articulated through data catalog, and highly available through data cube, API, and other interfaces
Oversee the ongoing development and operations of an Enterprise Data Platform, supporting data and analytics use cases across all our business units and corporate functions.
Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies, and data literacy across the company.
Apply business strategy while driving technology strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly
Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data to deliver the data while leveraging all available assets
Engage with key stakeholders to design and implement a robust BI roadmap, including data architecture, data governance, master data management, BI environment, and tools
Drive collaboration with internal and external technology partners (e.g. engineering, product/design, data science, and vendors) to firm up requirements and prioritize deliverables to enable data for decision-making.
Take opportunities for continuous improvement and stays current in new BI technologies and platforms identifying emerging solutions, driving innovation and creative solutions to meet business challenges.
Grow and develop a team of BI analysts to support all business verticals’ reporting and dashboarding needs
Get hands-on with the data and analysis to produce actionable insights and to help streamline future, similar analysis
Develop, implement, and disseminate metrics/KPIs, profitability and outcomes including dashboards and data visualizations from all facets of our business
Aggregate and analyze historical data for continuity, reliability, and validity
Use agile engineering practices to iteratively develop Minimal Viable Product (MVP) Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
10+ years of experience designing and building integrated enterprise data and reporting platforms.
3+ years in leadership role related to data and analytics platforms
3+ years in Investment management with deep understanding of financial metrics used for investment / investor reporting and related data entities
Experience with cloud-native application architecture (i.e. containers, microservices, API design and management, etc.)
Experience implementing security controls (i.e. data encryption, security groups, and roles, row-level security, etc.) across data lake storage, models, and analytics workspaces
Demonstrated capability in defining technical roadmaps for product design and evolving product features
Nice to have: Experience defining and maintaining data dictionary, metadata, and lineage through data management platforms such as Purview, Informatica, Collibra, etc.
Experience with modern technology service delivery frameworks including Agile, DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
Experience working with data tools and programming languages (i.e. Power BI, C, Python, SQL, R) and in building effective dashboards that enable quick decision making.
Ability to identify and synthesize data from ambiguous sources, conduct data due diligence, and present impactful and insightful analysis of strategic opportunities to senior leaders in both written and oratory form.
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate new concepts effectively and drive change in process and behaviors.
Strong people leadership capabilities including motivating and connecting a global team, guiding and coaching team leaders and individual team members, developing talent, implementing performance management plans when needed, and ensuring accountability for commitments that are made.
A consultative and continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated ability to drive programs that generate business value, with measurable key performance indicators and metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree with emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences).
Experience in scripting with SQL, extracting large sets of data, and design of ETL flows.
General Requirements:

Experience with articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets (SQL) and using statistics to arrive at an answer.
Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends and applied knowledge of measurement, statistics, and program evaluation.
Distinctive problem-solving skills and impeccable business judgment.
Capable of translating analysis results into business recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
