Production Engineer 

Overview

We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other Engineering teams in Infrastructure to provide production support for our core infrastructure and services. You will help the team improve our daily operation through automation, collaboration, and documentation.

The ideal candidate is an eager learner and strong communicator who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You should also bring a detail-oriented mindset to everything you do. This role will be the primary interface between the infrastructure team and the greater technology community.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve our existing triage process to provide timely responses to user’s questions and issues

• Identify areas for process improvement through automation. Where possible, implement this automation.

• Coordinate with other Infrastructure teams to implement needed improvements to process and automation within their platforms.

• Help ensure the firms secure-by-default stance by rigorously working to reduce potential deficiencies in our production environment.

• Provide a data-driven approach to highlight recurring pain points and areas for improvement. Work with the Infrastructure management team to use this data to prioritize important improvements.

• Documentation & Communication: Maintain clear and concise internal and external documentation. Communicate project status, challenges, and risks to stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience: 3+ years’ operating and supporting production environments.

• Cloud & Container Know-How: Familiarity with one of the major cloud services and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.

• Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, PowerShell or Bash.

• Infrastructure as Code: Basic exposure to tools like Terraform & Ansible is a plus; willingness to learn and collaborate on infrastructure changes is essential.

• Collaboration & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Infrastructure, Platform, and InfoSec.

• Problem-Solving & Ownership: Track record of tackling problems proactively, owning your work from design to production, and seeing projects through to completion.
