OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Center Engineer to oversee operations and infrastructure at multiple data center sites. This role will focus on maintaining critical IT infrastructure, managing operational workflows, and driving process improvements. DAY-TO-DAY:
- Lead day-to-day operations and maintenance of data center facilities, ensuring uptime and reliability across multiple sites.
- Build, install, and troubleshoot servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and cabling infrastructure (both copper and fiber).
- Manage data center capacity, including forecasting future needs and implementing upgrades or enhancements.
- Develop and refine operational processes, policies, and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including procurement, contract management, and ensuring service quality.
- Drive data center buildouts and infrastructure upgrades, including cooling systems, power balancing, and other critical improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data center operations with organizational goals.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7–15 years of relevant experience in data center operations, with prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong expertise in data center design, troubleshooting, cabling, and infrastructure management (DCIM).
- Hands-on experience with data center buildouts, cooling technologies, power systems, and remote site upgrades is highly desirable.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Demonstrated project management abilities and experience coordinating with vendors or contractors.
- Leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage teams, set priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
