Senior Linux Trading Systems Architect/Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Linux Trading systems Architect /Engineer focusing on building out the firm’s low latency trading infrastructure from a Linux OS standpoint, you will play a crucial role in building and optimizing high-frequency trading systems from the ground up. Your superior expertise in Linux-based environments will drive the development of a robust, low-latency trading platform designed to handle the demanding requirements of high-speed trading. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy cutting-edge technology solutions that support the firm’s trading strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and Build: Develop and implement a low latency trading infrastructure from scratch, leveraging Linux operating systems to create a high-performance environment optimized for rapid trading execution.
• Optimization: Tune and optimize Linux-based systems to minimize latency and maximize throughput, ensuring high-frequency trading capabilities.
• Automation and Scalability: Automate deployment, configuration, and scaling processes using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles, to support high-speed trading operations and rapid growth.
• System Integration: Integrate advanced networking, storage, and security solutions to enhance the overall performance and reliability of the trading infrastructure.
• Performance Monitoring: Implement and maintain tools and processes for monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing system components to ensure low latency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with trading developers, portfolio managers, and other technical teams to align infrastructure development with trading strategies and requirements.
• Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation for the trading infrastructure and provide training to internal teams on system usage and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive Linux Experience: Proven track record in designing, implementing, and optimizing Linux-based systems specifically for high-frequency trading environments.
• Low Latency Expertise: In-depth understanding of low-latency trading infrastructure, including tuning Linux kernels, network stack optimization, and high-performance storage solutions.
• Programming and Scripting: Strong skills in scripting and automation using languages such as Python or Bash to streamline operations and enhance system capabilities.
• Networking Knowledge: Deep knowledge of networking protocols, latency reduction techniques, and high-speed network configurations.
• Technology Proficiency: Hands-on experience with technologies such as:
  • IAC Infrastructure as Code
  • Network aspects that will effect latency in Linux OS.
