The Role

Infrastructure Engineering team is looking for a talented Senior Office Buildout Lead to drive the technology and usability elements going in our new offices. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable leading on multiple fronts at a time:

· Coordinating with leadership on new projects

· Planning

· Leading our technical teams when relevant to office buildouts

· Identifying and leveraging external vendors when necessary

· Providing frequent status reports

While we value the ability to engage on relevant technical topics, the ideal candidate will be required to display excellent context switching capabilities and an ability to interact with non-technical audiences in the real estate industry. Playing a technology architect-level role on office technology questions will be expected while demonstrating a strong desire and capacity to lead and bring projects to completion. When things get challenging, a successful Senior Office Buildout Lead at our firm will collaborate with leadership, syndicate risk, engage with external vendor teams and demonstrate ownership. We consider displaying leadership with all individual contributors involved in our office buildout functions to be critical for this role.

This is a full-time role based in one of our offices in the United States, or remote for candidates who demonstrate significant and relevant experience. Travel, both in the US and internationally, will be required to support our rapid expansions in existing and new offices. The Senior Office Buildout Lead role will be part of the Infrastructure Engineering Team, which is a nimble team that focuses on four distinct practices to leverage technology in modern and scalable ways: Service Desk, Cloud Platform, Office Buildouts and Workplace Technology. In this role you will also have opportunities to work closely with in-house technologists from those teams and manage a number of vendors in different locations.

Core Responsibilities and Qualifications

· Brings a cross-platform mindset. We strongly believe in collaborating as one team across multiple functions such as Real Estate, Corporate Services, Vendor Management and Engineering. While technology will constitute a strong focus for this position, we expect the Office Buildout Lead to be deeply involved on non-Engineering teams as well.

· Demonstrates strong office project leadership. The ideal candidates can easily articulate high level project plans, establish timelines and efficiently switch between from planning to execution mode. Helping unblock or accelerate specific contributors by providing direct assistance when needed will be critical to this person’s success.

· Is accountable for our new office projects. We will require the Senior Office Buildout Lead to demonstrate clear ownership of the projects and assume full accountability for their successful completion. These mission critical projects will require clear decisions, constant monitoring, active responses to questions, timely adjustments when anomalies are identified and proactive communications when risks are reported.

· Brings strong organizational skills. With several office buildout projects evolving simultaneously in different locations, involving different third parties, the candidate will be expected to show a well-organized approach to context switching and keeping key stakeholders informed.

· Collaborates and interacts without friction. We function by promoting documentation, testing, knowledge-sharing and collaboration, while staying focused on getting things done. The Senior Office Buildout Lead will be expected to display an outstanding team-player attitude. You will need to demonstrate leadership capabilities by personally driving projects from the beginning to the end, and frequently communicating outcomes to leadership.

Preferred Skills and Experience

· Has experience with vendor management in different spaces:

o Networking

o Audio/visual equipment

o Desktop technology

o Office technical support and moves

o Physical security

· Has worked closely with teams on office buildouts, redesigns, and winddowns

· Can demonstrate nimbleness and ability to engage in creative problem-solving under high-pressure contexts

· Participated in the initial design of new offices, especially technology-related aspects

· Has successfully implemented an office buildout plan, including:

o Timeline and deadlines

o Cost estimates and execution

o Staffing requirements and organization structure

o Risk evaluations and mitigants

· Has assumed leadership for the execution of office buildouts and moves

· Has provided guidance to senior leadership on technology selection and evolution

· Provided senior representation on technology questions

· Maintained relationships with key vendors and service providers, and provided direct oversight to work performed by third-parties

· Developed procedures and policies related to the deployment of office technology

· Delivered innovation and optimization for all of the above.

· Comfortable with remote work using tools such as Zoom, Slack and Box

· Possesses a strong sense of urgency and prioritization; ability to execute quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail while keeping track of multiple parallel projects

· Strong verbal and written communication abilities
