We’re seeking a Senior Virtualization Engineer to spearhead the design and construction of cutting-edge infrastructure for our trading platforms. Collaborate closely with infrastructure engineers and software developers to deliver scalable systems that drive performance and efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

  • Automate and Innovate: Expand our suite of proprietary tools using Python and Bash, leveraging Jenkins for seamless automation of server deployments, monitoring, and maintenance. Focus on optimizing performance and tackling high-impact projects.
  • Optimize: Fine-tune virtualization environments for peak performance and optimize network stacks to enhance throughput and reduce latency. Conduct thorough root-cause analysis to resolve complex system issues.
  • Collaborate: Partner with Strategy Developers and Quantitative Researchers to address critical business challenges. Implement scalable solutions utilizing SAN and high-speed networks.
  • Innovate: Lead the design and implementation of our next-generation VM platform in Openstack, poised to replace our existing 7500 guest VMWare environment.
  • Monitor: Develop and deploy robust monitoring tools to ensure cluster capacity meets performance demands. Forecast resource needs and plan capacity accordingly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience building Linux and/or Windows-based HPC platforms.
  • Proficiency in kernel-level and I/O subsystem tweaks using tools like sysctl, strace, tcpdump, and netstat.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Python, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Expertise in open-source virtualization technologies like Openstack, RedHat Openshift, kubevirt, or equivalent.
