Quantitative Trading Firm #015
High-Performance Infrastructure & Automation-Systems Engineer
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join a team focused on infrastructure automation, platform engineering, and service orchestration. This role is integral to designing, optimizing, and scaling the compute environments that support low-latency trading and large-scale research workloads.
What You’ll Work On
- As a Systems Engineer, you’ll develop, deploy, and maintain highly automated, self-service infrastructure platforms across on-premise, bare-metal, and cloud environments. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance tuning, and operational scalability, working across compute, storage, networking, and orchestration layers.
- Key responsibilities include:
🛠 Infrastructure as Code & Automation – Develop and maintain automated provisioning systems, OS image management, and API-driven infrastructure orchestration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
🖥 Compute Platform Management – Optimize and scale large-scale virtualization (KVM, VMware), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and bare-metal deployments.
☁ Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure – Design and integrate multi-cloud solutions while ensuring seamless interoperability with on-premise infrastructure.
🔍 Observability & Performance Engineering – Build monitoring, logging, and performance tuning solutions to ensure ultra-low latency and high availability across critical services.
🔄 CI/CD & Service Orchestration – Architect and optimize deployment pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, and ArgoCD for infrastructure and application delivery.
🔗 Networking & Systems Integration – Work on low-latency networking, storage architecture, and service discovery with technologies like Consul, Envoy, and VXLAN.
⚙ User Enablement & Self-Service Tooling – Develop internal self-service platforms and API-driven automation to streamline infrastructure provisioning and management for engineering teams.
What You Bring
- We are looking for highly technical engineers with deep expertise in infrastructure and automation at scale. The ideal candidate will have:
💻 Expertise in Linux Systems Engineering – Deep understanding of kernel tuning, boot processes, PXE provisioning, and system internals.
🐍 Proficiency in Python & Scripting – Experience developing infrastructure tooling, automation scripts, and APIs.
☁ Cloud & Virtualization Expertise – Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes, KVM, VMware, or cloud-native workloads (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
🛠 Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation – Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, or Chef.
📡 Networking & Performance Optimization – Understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, multicast, and network acceleration techniques.
⚡ Storage & Filesystem Optimization – Familiarity with Ceph, NFS, and high-performance distributed storage.
🚀 CI/CD & Software Deployment – Experience with GitOps, containerized deployments, and release automation.
🔧 Incident Response & Troubleshooting – Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in production environments.
