Systems Engineer – Trading Infrastructure (R&D)

Quant Trading Firm #15

Step into the core of a next-gen trading technology platform where your work directly powers billions in trades every single day. We’re seeking Systems Engineers to help architect, scale, and optimize one of the world’s fastest and most advanced compute environments.
This isn’t a backroom ops seat — it’s a front-line engineering role where you’ll touch globally distributed HPC clusters, multi-petabyte storage systems, low-latency Linux trading stacks, and custom-built automation frameworks that keep trading and research running 24/7.

What You’ll Do
Design & execute technical projects that make Linux trading systems faster, more resilient, and easier to scale
Manage & optimize large-scale distributed compute/HPC clusters
Automate infrastructure from the ground up, eliminating manual bottlenecks
Debug and tune performance across hardware, OS, network, and storage layers
Test, deploy, and integrate next-gen hardware (GPU, CPU, networking, power)
Partner with researchers, developers, and ops teams to ensure seamless live trading worldwide

What You Bring
5+ years hands-on with Linux systems engineering (install, config, troubleshooting)
Deep fluency with Linux/UNIX command line
Strong Python & Shell scripting skills
Familiarity with config management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
Attention to detail, urgency, and the ability to thrive in mission-critical environments
Bonus points: Debian/Ubuntu experience or GPU optimization background

Why This Role
You’ll be engineering the backbone of a platform where milliseconds matter and infrastructure is the competitive edge. Think: clusters bigger than most national labs, global on-prem datacenters, and teams obsessed with squeezing every ounce of performance out of compute, network, and storage.
